Evolution Guides

Scyther to Kleavor evolution uses Black Augurite, an evolution item introduced with Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Scyther does not need to be traded for this branch, which is separate from its older Metal Coat evolution into Scizor. Black Augurite can be used directly on Scyther in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This Scyther to…

Sneasel to Sneasler evolution requires Hisuian Sneasel and a Razor Claw during the daytime. The regional form matters because ordinary Sneasel uses the same item at night to become Weavile instead. Pokémon Legends: Arceus lets you use the Razor Claw directly during the day, while later core games can use the held-item level-up rule where…

Haunter to Gengar evolution is a trade evolution. In most core Pokémon games, Haunter becomes Gengar when it is traded to another player, so simply gaining more levels will not trigger the final stage. Trade evolutions are easy once the requirement is prepared, but held items and Everstones can cause avoidable mistakes. This Haunter to…

Machoke to Machamp evolution is a trade evolution. In most core Pokémon games, Machoke becomes Machamp when it is traded to another player, so simply gaining more levels will not trigger the final stage. Trade evolutions are easy once the requirement is prepared, but held items and Everstones can cause avoidable mistakes. This Machoke to…

Scyther to Scizor evolution is a trade evolution. In most core Pokémon games, Scyther becomes Scizor when it is traded to another player while it is holding a Metal Coat, so simply gaining more levels will not trigger the final stage. Trade evolutions are easy once the requirement is prepared, but held items and Everstones…

Rhydon to Rhyperior evolution is a trade evolution. In most core Pokémon games, Rhydon becomes Rhyperior when it is traded to another player while it is holding a Protector, so simply gaining more levels will not trigger the final stage. Trade evolutions are easy once the requirement is prepared, but held items and Everstones can…

Porygon evolution has two separate trade-item stages. Porygon becomes Porygon2 when traded while holding an Upgrade, then Porygon2 becomes Porygon-Z when traded while holding a Dubious Disc. Because the line needs two different items and normally two trades, it is easy to mix up which item belongs to which stage. This Porygon evolution guide lays…

Ursaring to Ursaluna evolution requires a Peat Block used during a full moon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Ursaring does not evolve into regular Ursaluna through ordinary levelling, and the moon condition is checked when you use the item. The Peat Block is not obtainable as an evolution item in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, so the…

Basculin to Basculegion evolution only works with White-Striped Basculin. The red and blue striped forms do not evolve into Basculegion, so checking the form is the first step before you start working on the recoil-damage requirement. White-Striped Basculin must lose at least 294 HP from recoil damage without fainting. This Basculin to Basculegion evolution guide…

Qwilfish to Overqwil evolution changes depending on which modern game you are playing. Hisuian Qwilfish uses Barb Barrage in every version of the method, but Legends: Arceus, Scarlet and Violet, and Legends: Z-A count that requirement differently. That game-to-game difference is why old instructions can be confusing. This Qwilfish to Overqwil evolution guide separates the…
