The Stantler to Wyrdeer evolution requirement in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is 20 uses of Psyshield Bash in Agile Style. Normal uses of the move do not count toward the specific Agile Style requirement. After the qualifying uses are complete, Stantler becomes eligible to evolve into Wyrdeer.

You do not need to complete all 20 in one battle. The counter carries across battles, so use wild encounters that let Stantler act safely and repeatedly. Keep enough PP or return to a camp when you need to recover moves.

Make Sure Psyshield Bash Is Mastered

A move has to be available in Agile Style before you can use it that way. If Stantler has learned Psyshield Bash but the style option is not yet available, continue progressing the move mastery requirements or use the appropriate mastery support in Legends: Arceus.

Once Agile Style is available, deliberately select it every time you are working on the Stantler to Wyrdeer evolution. A normal Psyshield Bash may be useful in battle, but it does not advance this evolution counter.

Count 20 Agile Style Uses

Because the game does not place a giant evolution counter on the battle screen, it is easy to lose track. Count each successful Agile Style use yourself or simply go slightly beyond 20 before checking the party menu. There is no penalty for doing a few extra.

Can Stantler Evolve in Scarlet and Violet?

No. Stantler can exist in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but its Wyrdeer evolution is not enabled there. If you want to evolve that Stantler, move it to Pokémon Legends: Arceus through Pokémon HOME, complete the battle-style requirement there, and then move Wyrdeer back to a compatible destination.

This game restriction is an important part of the Stantler to Wyrdeer evolution. Simply using Psyshield Bash in Scarlet or Violet will not unlock Wyrdeer.

Why Stantler Is Not Evolving
